Tutu wearing alien spotted in Winchester:

"It walks like a penguin and dresses like a ballerina"

Some days you just have to look at the newspaper and go: WTF?!?!

http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?Tutu-wearing_alien_spotted_in_Winchester&in_article_id=747688&in_page_id=2

'It was staggering – I am not usually lost for words but I was that day,' he said.

'She was a humanoid walking with a penguin-like gait.

'She had very large oval eyes and was twirling her hands in a circular motion. She was laughing and seemed to be enjoying herself. She was human enough to get away with it,' he added.

Wow.

The clip I really wanted, having just watched Angel of Death (Featuring Jake Abel, or Adam Milligan, the littlest Winchester for SPN followers) was his line "I am the favourite son". He was way scary in this film. Way way scary, and 100% cool. Unfortunately, it's too new to be caped all over the place. He turns up in a couple of trailers though, if you're curious but not curious enough to watch. It's really good. Kick ass.

Day three:

I have a lot of favourite authors for a variety of fandoms, but I know I mostly follow Supernatural recently, so the fic I would like to rec is Kroki Refur's "The Crow on the Cradle"

angst level: 9 (this rating system is one of the many reasons I <3 Refur)
Rating: PG13
Spoilers: Season 1
Summary: On October 2, 2005, Sam Winchester walked out of the apartment he shared with his girlfriend Jess in the middle of the night and didn't come back.

It is one of the most amazing AU fics I have ever read. It takes Jess and makes her into a full on 3-D character, keeps Dean and John in character to a T, and most importantly has a LOGICAL REASON TO GO AU. It's beautiful and the build to the ending is absolutely flawless.

I <3, I <3 and I <3 some more. Though I could say that about most of Refur's fic.

To get around multifandomness, here are some other recs on the sly: )

There's a couple of reasons this image is awesome. It's Christopher Eccleston, jumping a horse over a camera, in a half-mask (Kakashi fans will know why this makes me happy). Unfortunately, it's from an absolutely DIRE film called "The Seeker". But this five minute section of riding in the mist made it all worthwhile.

So talking about Kate Bush's fantastically weird videos (youtube 'Suspended in Gaffa', 'Cloudbursting', 'The Red Shoes' and 'Experiment IV', the last featuring a young Hugh Laurie and Dawn French) made me think of Running up that Hill again - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuLlwUaEyr0 - (as it always does) and how it made me want to dance Modern. Which I think I would still be doing if I didn't have to deal with all of the 'drama girls' to do it. I'm not an extroverted person, and would dance for *me* if I could find somewhere that didn't expect you to perform after x practices. A dance school, not a performance school.

But still. I went to see a performance by DV8 a while back - the Physical Theatre behind that scene in Strange Fish - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seSPEAGk_gY&feature=related - performing their "To Be Straight With You" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJE0t-wYr9Q. It was all about homophobia and homosexuality, and it was unique in that the dance was all offset by interview quotes. They had gone out and asked people what they thought about homosexuality. Homophobes and homosexuals alike. There were some really horrific stories in amongst what was delivered that night (I was crying my eyes out, and my mum who was a dancer was not far behind me) and views from every side of the subject. I was awed. I wish it was available on DVD or something, but I know something like that is never *right* on a screen.

Anyway, I'm going to see Motionhouse at Warwick in a month, and I am stupidly excited. So I'm sifting through all the modern dance online for stuff that makes my breath catch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM0IYfxi1i0
A worthy task for the night I think.

Day One:
Moments of Pleasure, Kate Bush (It will always be Kate Bush)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axsoq63rn0Y (yes, her videos are often very weird)

Some moments that I've had
Some moments of pleasure

I think about us lying
Lying on a beach somewhere
I think about us diving
Diving off a rock, into another moment

The case of George the Wipe
Oh God I can't stop laughing
This sense of humour of mine
It isn't funny at all
Oh but we sit up all night
Talking about it

Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time

On a balcony in New York
It's just started to snow
He meets us at the lift
Like Douglas Fairbanks
Waving his walking stick
But he isn't well at all
The buildings of New York
Look just like mountains through the snow

Just being alive
It can really hurt
And these moments given
Are a gift from time
Just let us try
To give these moments back
To those we love
To those who will survive

And I can hear my mother saying
"Every old sock meets an old shoe"
Isn't that a great saying?
"Every old sock meets an old shoe"
Here come the Hills of Time

Hey there Maureen,

Hey there Bubba,
Dancing down the aisle of a plane,

It's Murph, playing his guitar refrain,

Hey there Teddy,
Spinning in the chair at Abbey Road,

Hey there Michael,
Do you really love me?

Hey there Bill,
Could you turn the lights up?

Fic: An End In Sight (sequel to Trials Unending)
Author: Faceted Mind

Rating: Mild version PG, Full story: NC-17 in places - see below for details

Summary: Sequel to Trials Unending. After the trials of Antarctia and what followed for Remy, settling back into life at the mansion with Logan is proving difficult.

Jukebox and Ross have *both* betaed this brilliantly, but while they are both fantastic, they are not miracle workers and all mistakes continue to be my own.

Two versions of An End In Sight - the sequel to Trials Unending - are available. It is still a WIP, and will be posted on LJ when complete.

The PG version is available on fanfiction.net/~facetedmind.

The full (NC-17) version is available on groups.yahoo.com/group/logan_remy.

Do not sign up to this Yahoo group if you are under 18. To be allowed access, you have to have your age declared on your yahoo profile. The mods are loves, but they're going to start drop kicking me if you guys keep going over there without your ages declared.

Title: Trials Unending
Author: Faceted Mind

Summary: After his return from Antarctica, Remy's trials are far from over.

Warnings: Slash, mention of child abuse and rape. Occasional medical/pseudoscientific info-blasts which despite researching may or may not be accurate; forgive me anyone who reads and shakes their heads in annoyance, I am no medic. Oh, and a little British spelling, which I'm sure you can forgive me for.

Notes: This is AU for how Remy gets back to the Mansion and in what state. No glowy green ladies here. A variety of Betas have worked on this fic; Cruel Illusion, Ross and "Point me at the coffee" as far as I remember, but I have done work on it since so all mistakes are my own. This was written in 2005/6, so I blame my youth for all rose-tinted-ness, the sequel (2008/9) is more cynical, jaded and tortuous. I've obviously hit my writing's teen-aged years.

Pairing: Future Logan/Remy, but not just yet ;)
